Prof. Drysdale Receives Distinguished Teacher Award
SEPTEMBER 1983

Class Day exercises, held June 11, included the presentation of the fifth annual Distinguished Teaching Award to Robert (Scot) L. Drysdale, assistant professor of computer science and mathematics. The award was presented by Fred Berthold '45, Preston Kelsey professor of religion and chairman of the faculty selection committee.

The award is given annually to a regular member of the teaching faculty who has, in the opinion of the committee, made "an outstanding contribution to teaching at Dartmouth."

Professor Drysdale, who holds a B. A. in mathematics from Knox College and an M.S. and Ph.D. in computer science from Stanford University, joined the faculty in 1978. His research is in theoretical computer science, with concentration on the design and analysis of algorithms.

The Distinguished Teaching Award was established in 1978 by Jerome R. Goldstein '54, a general partner in the New York City investment banking firm of Bear, Stearns & Company.
