Among this month's news is word that Pete Webster wed Sharon Marie (Ree) Brooks of Hartford, Conn., on August 11 at the Webster family's summer cottage in Fenwick, Old Saybrook, Conn. According to brother Bill '65, Pete has been busy running the family's business (operating Ziebart franchises, a bike shop, and a Midas Muffler franchise).
David Shair recently announced his partnership with the law firm of Ritz, Shair, and Anderson, Ltd. in Rockford, Ill.
Andy Harvard's account of his three trips to the east face of Mount Everest was published in the July issue of National Geographic. He is currently working on a book about the first ascent of the mountain by this route and has coauthored a second book, Mountain of Storms, about a 1978 expedition up the 26,795 foot Dhaulagiri.
Finally, we were saddened to learn of the untimely death of our friend and classmate Rich Granfield on September 4 at Georgetown University Hospital following a brief illness. He is survived by his wife Pat, his daughter Erin, and son Patrick. A full obituary will appear in a later issue. A scholarship fund has been established in his memory at the College, dedicated to those who study international relations. Donations may be sent to the Richard P.
