So this great big moth flew into the mail bag, see? And it ate a humongous hole in the bottom of the postman's knapsack, you know? So all your letters and post cards got . . . like ... lost and there's not much to report.
ONE FOR THE MONEY. We can tell you that Anthony S. Poltrack, senior vice president, administration and finance, director, and secretary of C.R. Gibson Company, Norwalk, Conn., retired after 27 years with the firm. Prior to his years with Gibson, starting in 1961 as chief financial officer, he was with Price Waterhouse, the New York YMCA, and Olivetti. Tony and Arlene were still residing at 321 Chestnut Hill Road, Stamford 06903 when last we checked.
TWO FOR THE SHOW. Frank Gilroy had a new film, "The Luckiest Man in the World," open in New York on February 22. Not sure if it is autobiographical since the initial screening preceded our deadline and the film's editor, son John Gilroy '81, wasn't available for comment. We'll have to get back to you on this one.
THREE TO GET READY. Our terrific trio in Hanover, Len Matless and DaveTaylor and Ed Tuck have long since begun conniving for a Fabulous Fortieth reunion a year hence. Set aside the middle of June to be back in Hanover. Meanwhile, mail your contribution to this year's Alumni Fund to Jack Harlow. He did a great job last year, garnering over 70 percent participation, but that's history. Time to "re-up," troopers! And if you forgot, it's not too late to send class dues to Ben Shaver (195 W. Paddock Circle, Arnold, MD 21012). Twenty-five bucks.
AND FOUR TO GO. "Mary-Beth Lindenthal Jones '78 (daughter of Ro and WaltLindenthal, of course), you saved my day!" So wrote the scribe of that younger class a couple of columns ago. Mary-Beth and George Jones '76 announced that Samuel Buck was born a year ago joining older brother George who is now four. How to go. Four to go. And you saved my day, too, Mary-Beth!
That seems to be it. We'll give you a high five next month if you can scrape up half a dozen words and send them to . . .
