This column is being dictated from a hospital bed at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital, where I landed again in mid-January.

I received a nice letter recently from Len Reade. He enclosed a generous contribution to the Alumni Fund and noted that he is well and "enjoying life."

Walt Walters was also good enough to write with the latest news; he is well, too, and plans to spend the winter in Florida and Tucson, Ariz.

The final letter-writer this month is Dave Wiggins '5l, a resident of Wauwatosa, Wise., and the class secretary for '51. I had met him at a Class Officers Weekend in Hanover some time ago when I happened to sit next to him at the Secretaries Association meeting. Dave, noticing my name tag, said, "I know an Alden Vaughan - could it be any relation?" It was, indeed my nephew, with whom Dave had spent some time in Japan in the service. In Dave's recent note he mentioned that he had spent two weeks in Tokyo last October and had been able to renew acquaintances with some Japanese friends while there.

May I extend my deep apologies to the above kind writers and others for my inability to acknowledge their notes at present but I wanted everyone in the class to know that I'm thinking of you nevertheless.
