On October 15 another Dartmouth Night passed into history. To our benefit, it was a much better night than for the previous two years when the day's unsettled weather decided to send down showers or pouring rains for the evening to dampen the torchlight parade, but not the spirit of the affair. This year's night was clear, even if a bit cold. The crowd was bigger than ever and the number of classes in the parade endless, with 1915 the oldest class represented, followed by 1917. As usual for the last six years, your class officer rode in an open car and let people know that the class of 1917 was still able to be counted among those present.
The next morning, at 7:30 a.m., 40 or more class presidents met for a hearty breakfast in the Wheelock Room at the Hanover Inn. After fulfilling the needs of our bodies, we partook of some nourishment for our minds provided by members of the College administration. We learned much about the status of bequests to the College, about the encouraging progress of the Campaign for Dartmouth, and about the activities and difficulties of the admissions committee. This last group of officers, in my mind, has the toughest task in the administration of the College.
Do have as merry a Christmas as you can with your families and friends, and a very healthy and happy New Year.
