The responses to the reunion questionnaires have been coming in steadily over the last several weeks. At this time I can report that based on the responses, 70 percent of you have indicated you will definitely be coming to Hanover this summer. A partial list of definites includes the following: DonReis, Bill Malcom, Jeff Stein, Bill Roberts,Bob Swett, Jamie Stewart, Jim Cason, BillCooper, Tom Clarke, Rob Carpenter, TerryLowd, Richard King, Paul Doscher, ChrisMeyer, Jim Everett, Jack Bennett, MikeMcConnell, Tom Brady, Dean Spatz, DickAbraham, Tom Rodman, Billy Bower, DickGodfrey, Steve Landfer, Mike Smith, JeffFudder, Rob Knight, Larry Goss, John Rollins, Chuck Sherman, Budge Gere, BruceMcKissock, Chuck Vernon, Pete Dole, A1Kyler, Jopp Keane, Mike Danzig, Jim Nutt and Ed Long.
Distances '66s are willing to travel for this reunion range from Norwich, Vt., to Santiago, Chile. So far two have requested dates "and/or will trip," and one will bring a girlfriend, or wife (depending on her answer). We have had requests for softball, bridge, hiking, and poker. The two people most classmates have requested to meet with are geography professor Bob Huke and administrator Whitey Burnham. Don Reis has volunteered to organize a four or eight (with or without Cox, Don?) against the '6ss and '64s. I am going to start doing push-ups now.
The responses to 40-year celebrations have also been highly diverse and interesting, to say the least. We have had heard suggestions for kidnappings, lunches in exotic places, "ho hum" work days, and "what's the big deal?"
A few news items have come in along with the reunion responses. Dave Johnston has finally surfaced, in the black, after beginning his own business, Interrriatrix, Inc., four years ago, doing corporate public affairs consulting in Westport, Conn. Dave reports his wife, Hera (a psychiatrist), and children, Rebekah, seven, Mariah, three, and Alexander, one and a half, are doing fine. Ed Long is a bachelor again at the Naval War College in Newport, R.I. Ed reports that his wife, Sue, and children, Kim, 17, and Scott, 14, are living in Vero Beach, Fla. After finishing a command tour last July, Ed was stationed at Newport and will go back to "driving a desk" in Washington, D.C., after the reunion this summer. And Peter Hargraves has been reassigned to New York City as a general manager of Connecticut Bank International, a subsidiary of CBT. Welcome back, Peter. There you have it, hot off the wire, the news of the month. Don't forget: June 14, 15,16 spells REUNION.
