My heartfelt thanks to all of you who were so very kind to honor me at Christmas time by sending me a line. Courageous GinneyBowen's card was first to come to me; Christmas took her to Albany to be with family. Brave Helen Cate's card was next in line, a beauty to behold, from Shakespeare's As YouLike It, whose name we are not told. HildaGross, engrossed in grandchildren and "greats," is adjusting well to single life. KenHussey, a very staunch supporter, sends words of encouragement. Sig and Betty Sigler are most generous and kind in appreciation of my efforts, as are Nate and MildredWhiteside, "ever faithful, ever true" such a grand couple! Ray Hutchinson and Ruth are not afraid to be magnanimous, and A1and Hope Frey of Maine bring cheer and joy to all of us. Stan Conway's card of "Peace On Earth" helps to cast away our fear; and Harriett and Don Hight report a happy, ac tive year. Grace Prentiss is my oldest friend that is, in years of knowing. My Bill sold Reos and Franklins for her dad before to Dartmouth going (to teach). I always love Catherine Clark's booklet of helpful Christmas stories. Ken Emory and Marguerite are looking simply great in a picture on his birthday, and he's not yet 88! Then there's Jack andAnnette Lappin, sending greetings from "Down East," and Hank and Dotty Dearborn, who we hope are finding peace. There's Ruth Farnham, and Anne Thomson, and Elsa Crathern, too. You all have been so thoughtful. I send warm thanks to you.
Hazel Klotter keeps me posted on her move from east to west, while Alice and LeoUnger think that west to east is best. VeraJohnson in Sioux City once lived in Arizona. She's near her son and family now, which is to her a bona (blessing). Isobel, Dan Bender's girl, sounds great at 84. She's ready for the challenges of what life has in store. And now we have, among the best, lovely FrancesMcGoughran, whose presence in our family will never be forgotten. Irv Hutchins and his Barbara; Ted Cart; and all of you: I hope you'll find much happiness and health the whole year through!
And last of all but by no means least, let's give a hearty rouse for that busy bunch back east preparing for a crowd. A crowd? Why, of course 1920's 65th reunion! Dal Dalrymple, Pat and Nancy Holbrook, CharlieSargent, and that sometimes silent partner high on the mountain top, Sherm Adams. Here's to all of you with love.
