The Good Lord has taken Bud Weymouth into his care after Bud spent two years in a comatose condition. Alice is to be commended for the loving care she has so patiently given Bud for such a long time. She will write the obituary about Bud; who could be better qualified than she, after the many years they have shared. A special part of the 1920 Memorial Service of the 65th reunion at Rollins Chapel was devoted to the memory of Bud, with his having been associated directly and indirectly with the College and having lived in the Hanover area for so many years!
I am writing again for Laura Carter. She is progressing from her stroke in February remarkably well. Her strong religious faith and her positive and cheerful attitude are the main reasons for her remarkable recovery. She had hoped she might attend the Class Officers Weekend in Hanover in May and the 65th reunion in June, but she now realizes that was wishful thinking. She has enjoyed the cards, letters, and phone calls received, and although she is not yet able to reply, she appreciates it all and thanks everybody. She has given up her apartment in Youngtown and will make her home for the time being with her daughter Kit and Kit's husband, Doug Stevenson '49. Her address now is 3934 West Kelton Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85023, and her phone number is 602/978-0844.
Another member of the 1920 class has left us. Richard E. Hazen died November 22, 1984. He had one son, Richard E. Hazen Jr., and his father, Frank J. Hazen, was a graduate of the class of 1889.
A card from Albert H. Steinbrecker tells that he is still active in amateur radio - mostly Military Affiliate Radio System (MARS). He is on the air every day to receive messages to and from our boys overseas and their families. He reminds us that he is 88 years old and that he and Helen will celebrate their 64th wedding anniversary in September. What could be a better way to celebrate than to come back to Hanover for the 65th reunion? Noticing that I am now living in Sun City, he offered the information that he had lived in Tucson for 21 years, but he didn't tell during what stage of his life he lived there.
A green card from Mrs. Robert R. Farrell (Helen) tells us that Bob died of a heart attack on December 3, 1984, and that he had a great love for Dartmouth and was always proud to have been a graduate. He was quite active, swimming at the "Y" almost every day and enjoying life. There was an obituary in the March Alumni Magazine and the College and the class send condolences to Helen.
