Well, folks, this month's rendering is my swan song edition. It's been for ten years that my column has swayed on the reporting fulcrum from, I hope, the humorous to, inevitably, the boring; I've often gambled (and won) that my remarks would be taken in jest, but if I have scratched any ego, please accept these remarks as a salve so that I may once more be in your good graces. So maybe I wasn't a swan, but must I be forever a turkey?

It's been fun and, thank goodness, we can, and should, all laugh at ourselves or at me, your fellow "vox clamantis." Thanks for the enthusiastic response and the timely tidbits. My housekeeping obligations require that I clean up the file with the following report.

At 8:30 a.m. on March 5, while eating my breakfast, I flicked on the TV to see Jane Pauley interviewing Richard Neeley. I was so surprised, I dropped my spoon into my prunes. They were talking about "out of court mediation," which after five minutes made me want to listen to my Rice Crispies go snap, crackle, and pop. Seriously, Richard came off the victor, in an exchange of verbal jousts with some other adversary. He was truly the "line" hearted. (I know what you are thinking with puns like this, I should have quit last month.)

One more thing: I still think that the College symbol should be "The Buckskins." The College could have a woodsman with a rifle dressed up in buckskin attire (not unlike Davy Crockett or Daniel Boone). So whom is this offending? This suggestion does not warrant a letter to the editor, so I am taking advantage of my space to get in my final two cents on this issue.

Well, that's it. Bye. (And thanks again for your appreciative response.)
