Last month's column concluded with a rash of job change and promotion announcements. Early retirement and relocation seem to be the themes for November.

Our 1952 population in Hong Kong has dwindled to zero with the return to the States of Ed Finerty and Jay Stahl. Ed has concluded a tour of duty with IBM and is awaiting reassignment with his company in the Boston area. Ed and Peg, who made it to reunion, will be returning to their former home in Natick, Mass. After a 32-year career with Union Carbide, topped off with Hong Kong duty, JayStahl has opted for early retirement. He plans to relocate to Chatham, Mass., and focus on projects or a possible second career in the Boston area. Ned Sullivan wrote his regrets about not making the reunion but indicated his hope to make a fall football weekend in Hanover. Ned has just retired from a long career in federal government service and plans to return to some old personal interests as well as develop some new ones: He is based in Vienna, Va. Don Unger has retired recently from Suffolk University in Boston. He spent 30 years there, most recently as chairman of the education department. Out west in Sacramento, Calif., Deke Dorey has concluded a 31-year career with General Electric. He and his wife, Mickey, plan to take up retirement in the Corpus Christi, Tex., area. More details on all these retirement situations will appear in Bill Montgomery's class newsletter.

Speaking of our newsletter scribe and Sacramento, Bill tells me that local construction magnate, Jim Streng, was recently elected to the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors.

Word from Blunt Alumni Center is that Frank and Drewry Logan are off to the Soviet Union for a few weeks of vacation traveling. Doubt if Frank will return from this trip with many Dartmouth bequests.

In a quick phone conversation with Chuck Curtis recently, he caught me up on his family's news, featuring son Scott's pigskin exploits at the University of New Hampshire. Scott is a starting linebacker who warmed up for the Dartmouth-UNH game with a bunch of tackles in his first three games.

Got a nice note from Fredrica Read thanking the class for the book purchased in husband George Read's memory. Freddie indicated that Dartmouth was a very strong part of George's life.

The in basket is low, so please supply me with your news.
