Classmates are reminded of the 9th Annual Fun City Fantastic scheduled for January 30-31 in New York City. CubeConroy has once again arranged for gracious dining and socializing at the Yale Club. This year's featured speaker is history professor Jere Daniel '55. Former A1 pha Thets can testify to Jere's humor and wit. Contact Cube for reservations.

Chairman Doug Keare is continuing his constructive dialogue with the College administration and Trustees with the objective of improving the process of governance of the College. It is important that alumni (of all opinions) who care join in this effort. Our class, collectively and individually, cares about the future of the College.

Anne and Norm Olsen have sent their third child off to Dartmouth. Kate '90 joins Jeff '84 and Chris '86. Robin and Line Spaulding also have three Dartmouth children. Are there other classmates who can match this impressive achievement? Norm is a professor of English in Charleston, S.C.

Andy Thorns is reported to have left Salzburg and joined John Gwynn at the U.S. Embassy at Mexico City. Classmates will have noted over the years that we are well represented in the foreign service. Bob Barry is currently regularly in the newspapers as U.S. respresentative to one of the many arms control/force reduction/ tension-easing conferences with the Soviet Union.

Visitors to Cleveland will find "Sunrise Seminar" has been replaced by "Business and the Law" on early morning television. Wilt Sogg, billed as "champion of owner-managed businesses," has added television to his already successful radio programs discussing business law as it applies to those types of businesses. Wilt is an adjunct professor at Cleveland Marshall College of Law and, incredibly, finds time to be a partner in the law firm of Hahn Loeser & Parks. Does anybody remember Wilt getting up at 6:30 a.m. in Hanover?

Frank Terhune dropped by Weston the other day to show us pictures of his newly-born twin granddaughters, whom Sarah and he visited in California in August. Their daughter and son-in-law are well but busy. To celebrate, Frank also nailed down a contract with Pepsi for 8 zillion soda cartons. Frank is national accounts manager of Rock Tenn. He and Sarah live in Baltimore. Congratulations on both counts, Frank.

It is curious how easy it is to pick up friendships after long intervals. Having missed Joyce and Bob Emde on a business trip to Denver, Ann and I had the pleasure of breakfasting with them at the Hanover Inn. We were in the area on vacation, they for a family reunion. Bob is currently president of the World Association of Infant Psychiatry and Allied Diseases (that's what he said). He and Joyce were on their way home from a conference in Stockholm. The trip had its exciting moments as Joyce fell into the Baltic, requiring a gallant rescue by Bob. It is not clear whether Soviet submarines were in the area. When not traveling or swimming, Bob pursues his research career in infant psychiatry at the University of Colrado, Denver. Joyce, among other things, is involved in training and developing ski store managers, all the while pursuing a doctorate. Bob's parents and daughter Anne were also with us for breakfast.

A card from their villa in the south of France reports that Anne-Marie and PaulBerry enjoyed the national holiday of France, elsewhere known as August. Regular readers will remember that Paul is with the much-maligned organization UNESCO. He reports that "UNESCO is beginning to fall apart, but that will take years." Ah, bureaucracy!

As this column is written (early September), it is hot and humid. As you read it, it may be cold and snowy. In any event, greetings of the season and all the best for the new year. Remember the 31st reunion on June 15-17. Think thirty!
