Yes, I'm sorry. It's me again. For four months this time. Pinch yourselves. This is not a bad dream. John King sailed off to China, Emily Bakemeier to so many exotic spots that I can't mention them without offending the editors of this magazine, who tell me to "omit needless words." Unfortunately, they didn't define "needless."

Saw Charlie Winslow on cover of Men'sGuide to Fashion, December 1985 issue. Very dapper, Charlie. What is it like to be handsome and famous? Kelly Dixon lost in Europe. Alison Schmults lost in Connecticut suburbs until Columbia B-school in the fall. Ted Everett sent last two items from new home in John King's old Boston apartment. Nothing about himself. At least he's alive.

Future doctors: Scott Burr at Cornball, oops, Cornell, David Cummings, (no word about goings) at Harvard, RussellGombosi at San FranAltoonaPAWorcester Scotland courtesy of Penn State, JeffFink at U. of R. (Any guesses? My guess is Revillagigedo. HAH! Found it in a world atlas.) Finally, Mark Butterfield at U. of Toronto doing pre-med. OK, you five. Come visit. Prescribe Tagamet and Dyazide here in California, in my territory. Thanks.

Random notes: Kenneth Dunning youth counselor in Syracuse: Matt Easton in Rochester, between jobs and finishing at Dartmouth. Landis Arnold importing in Boulder, Colo. Says he's either "on the river, talking boats, or selling them." Assume he means kayaks. Unless "boats" was really "boots." Maybe waders?

Next field: Money. Sounds like tank. Yup. HAH! Bank. Lisa Harrison is loan officer for Irving Trust, NYC, and travels to Texas by bike. Sometimes skateboard. 'Writer's license. More interesting. Everyone flies to Texas.) John Rosane in computer development at Banker's Trust, NYC. Decisons, decisions. Whom to trust, Irving or Banker's? Jo Lepley also in NYC, as a buyer at Macy's. Buy what, Jo? you work there or shop there?

Michelle (Gosselin) Wright married in October 1985 to Bill Wright '81. Both work at Digital: Michelle travels a lot by dirigible. Sent beautiful description of wedding day. Too verbose for column. '82s attending: Richard O'Meara, third-year Columbia law and host of Friday night "bring an ingredient" pizza parties. Anybody ever bring liver? Ed Bureau also there, works for Sanders(?) in Nashua, N.H., while getting master's in electrical engineering. Ed married Pinkerton Academy schoolmate, Sue (sorry, Sue, no maiden name listed) in July 1983. Last mentioned attendee, Turner Stauffer. Turner at Columbia med, engaged to HTH Karen Potter. June 1986 wedding planned.

Warren Allmon married Robin Aiello (Harvard '84) at Harvard's Memorial Church on February 16. Susan Durning is now Susan Stroming. She lives in Seattle. Frank Melville is now Frank Young. He married Mary Young '83 and they live in Cleveland "Yuk," Ohio. (Frank's "yuk.") He says, "Hi" to any Kappa Sigs.

Anyone interested in forming an '82 "Single Yet Still Breathing" club? Let me know. I'll write the newsletter.

Cathy Bagley is fourth year in BrownDartmouth medical program. She thanks Dartmouth for excellent undergraduate foundation. Think she means education, not masonry substructure.

Some people obviously still working on improving minds. Others working on bodies. David Schafer, Thor Malek, HalSandstrom, and Steve Peterec rode from Natick, Mass. ("Home of Doug Flutie." Who cares? Go, Park, Go.), to Smuggler's Notch in three days. That's 300 miles. That's also sick. Correction-admirable. Hugh Stouppe and Leslie Maiocco greeted the sickos at finish.

Kate (Pesek) Sackman at U. of Chicago B-school. In similar vein, Timothy Jarvis was Peace Corps volunteer in Zaire, Africa (1982-84). Now Peace Corps PR and recruiting rep in Maimi. Not similar vein, you say? Chicago and Zaire both have an "a" and an "i." HAH!

Furthermore, someone in class involved with the law. Marjorie Mac Lean worked at law firms in Newport Beach, Calif., and Phoenix last summer. Chicago now. She wrote, "This shows my bad judgment - hopefully in the future I'll be migrating with the birds." Neat. Guess she'll go by jetpack.

Coming mercifully to a close soon. Katie (Stearns) Friday and J.B. Friday are with the Peace Corps in Luzoa, Philippines. They're doing agro-forestry ("incorporation of trees into agricultural systems, especially for soil protection"). They're learning Ilokano-mixture of Malay, Spanish, and English. Thanks a lot, J.B. and Katie. We knew that. We even speak it. Hmmph.

Will end with Mark Cormier's green card. (No, he is not an alien.) He wrote from San Francisco: "Fourth" - Fire Starters/spark spitters/bright beads/buzz boom/bam flash/smoke trail/tails Hi!/unleashes/undone drips/flame sears/light into the/black/bright band/that fades to blue/spent spurters/cardboard burnt/char silent/smell wafts/over and out.

Now that's omitting needless words. Coming next month a wordless column.
