John Isaacson received a laudatory write-up in the December 1985 Esquire. Having forsaken the woodpaneled law office in favor of civil service after graduation from Harvard Law in 1973, John is now recruiting executives interested in
public service. He has developed a knack for enticing top talent despite the lower pay of public sector jobs. He has recently founded his own search firm, Isaacson, Ford, Webb, and Miller in Boston.
Esquire magazine also had the good sense to name David Soren, professor of archeology at the University of Arizona, to its annual register of American leaders. Dave discovered a 1,600-year-old city, Kourion, on Cyprus in 1984, leading to an excavation rivaling Pompeii in scope and importance. When he finally uncovered the city, buried by an earthquake in A.D. 365, he noted that "you feel like the rescue mission that's a little late."

He married Wendy Judge (Wellesley '69), and they have two children, a 12-year-old son and a 10-year-old daughter. They are out-of-doors people with interests in birding, canoeing, cycling, and skiing.
