In a thank-you note for his class birthday greeting, Al Morris, retired captain, U.S. Navy medical corps, now based at Aiken, S.C., wondered if he was nearly the last in the class to join the 1926 Octogenarian Club. After some study of the archives, there seem to be two who are younger - Bob Cort by 44 days and our youngest classmate, Patten Allen, by 112 days. Youthful runners-up also born in 1906 are Henry Lamb, Ken Godgrey, and Sid Lenke. The books are open for any others who may qualify for the junior league.

Art Smith, Milwaukee, Wis., like many other classmates is getting news of the Hanover campus in local papers as well as in college bulletins and the Magazine. The same could have been the case for Hump Campbell, if his cardiologist had not seen fit to rearrange Hump's medical program, making it impossible to make the long trip from Long Beach, Calif., to Hanover.

Even far-south residents in Flat Rock, N.C., including Dick Major, read in the Times News of Henderson, N.C., a syndicated story of Hanover doings. Unfortunately, due to dietary restrictions, the Majors were unable to attend reunion, but Dick's "'Wahoo Rah" logo made it in the magazine.

We were sorry to learn of the death in March of Mary Fisher, widow of HarryFisher, at her home of 55 years in West Hartford, Conn. Mary had attended many class affairs with Harry as well as after his death in 1968. She was an excellent golfer and an active charitable work volunteer. We have lost a very dear member of the '26 family.

The five-member Dartmouth 1926 Club of North Hill, Needham, Mass., met April 8 to celebrate the birthday and return from Florida of Henry Whitmore. Unfortunately Don Hopkins's health problem caused his and Marge's absence, so on behalf of the club Don and Lou Norstrand in residence K-204 welcomed Henry Blake and four members-to-be Dick andRuth Nichols, and Carl Schipper and his sister Anne for cocktails. The North Hill dining room provided dinner, complete with birthday cake and processional "happy birthday" song for Henry, and nobody had to do dishes.

The May COW (Class Officers Weekend) was attended by Ed Emerson, Fredand Kay Hurd, Jake and Evie Jacobus,Don and Lou Norstrand, George Scott,Les and Dot Talbot, Tubba and BarbaraWeymouth, and Art and Inez Wilcox.

The goings-on: Friday reception in Sid Hayward's Lounge, dinner at Hanover Inn, concert by Dartmouth's new wind ensemble; Saturday 7:30 a.m. breakfast meeting, remarks by President McLaughlin, various other meetings, luncheon at Thompson Arena with more reports, and later, cocktails at the Weymouths, joined by new Hanoverian Margie Robinson (widow of Don Robinson), and by Teri Allbright, class notes editor of the Magazine, and lastly Norwich Inn dinner. Sunday - 31 degrees F, with snow on campus, then homeward bound.

Have a great summer and urgent, send news!
