One of the glorious features of spring is news from happy classmates that a son or daughter has been accepted at Dartmouth. If you can keep those achievers coming, I will always feel youthful when the blossoms and buds begin to appear. Walt Yusen wrote from Woburn, Mass., to say that his daughter will join the next class at Dartmouth. "We saw some great schools, but in all of our minds, none really compared to Dartmouth." The same week, I was talking to Chicago attorney Barney Engler, who told me with obvious feeling that his son had just been notified of his acceptance at Dartmouth.
The Yusens have another prospect on the way. Their son is the number-one skier on the Milton Academy team and has an excellent grade average. Jan Yusen continues to operate her computer consulting business, and Walt's electrical business is "active and growing."
Walt also sent me a clipping on the exploits of the corporate ski team captained by Rink DeWitt. Manchester's Bank East Team compiled the best cumulative threeracer time in this winter's BMW Corporate Grand Prix of Skiing.
Phil and Marcia Drescher were in Chicago in April, visiting their daughter, Leslie. The Dreschers were returning from Freshman Parents' Weekend in Hanover. It was wonderful to see old friends.
Mike Nevins, M.D., of Rivervale, N.J., was honored by the American College of Physicians as its "Governor of the Year." Mike has been the head of the 2,200-
member New Jersey chapter of the Organization of Internists since 1983. He was recently appointed to the newly formed New Jersey Commission on Legal and Ethical Problems in the Delivery of Health Care. Ted Harris was elected to be New Jersey's next American College of Physicians governor when Mike completes his term in April 1987.
This column is too short, but that's all there is. As we end another academic year, thanks to all who have corresponded. It is always a pleasure to hear from you and weave your information into the column. Frankly, this has been my most trying year as class secretary in terms of the number of contacts from you. Next year, make a resolution to drop me a line. In the meantime, support Dartmouth in every way you can.
