Now for news of '82s. I do want to thank Philippa Guthrie a thousand times over for taking up the pen (or the typewriter, as it were) and writing the column for me at the end of last year's AlumniMagazine season. I was out of the country this past January to June working on the high seas/ but I now have my feet firmly planted on U.S. soil and I am heading back to the academic world and to the world of our alumni column.
Talk about sparkling successes! Our own Crashy Zacher has created a "gem" of a business for herself after finishing her formal studies at the Gemological Institute of America. Crashy and her partner-in- business, Marijke Zwikker-Stern, recently sent out a beautifully designed announcement for their newly formed jewelry broker /consulting company, Zwikker and Zacher, Inc. Anyone interested in a wide variety of choice jewelry at a good price should get in touch with Crashy.
Woody Kingman is sitting pretty, as well Woody returned to his home town of Minneapolis, Minn., last year to move into an assistant vice president position (and a great office!) in the real estate group of Hunter, Keith, Marshall, and Company. Woody's office is situated on the top floor of Minneapolis's tallest building with a view of all those lakes.
Chris Strauss graduated from Tuck this spring with several other of our classmates. Before graduating, Christi was honored as the recipient of the Charles I. Lebovitz Memorial Award. This award is given to the student who has made an outstanding contribution to the daily life of Tuck during the first year. Post-graduation, Christi spent the summer traveling through Europe with Marjie Mac Lean.
A bit farther afield, Patti Kinsman is teaching in Taiwan, and Jay Shoifet and his wife are soon heading off to Israel to live. This news is compliments of JimVahey, who will begin studies at Tuck School this fall. Jim's been living and working (and Banking Chemically) in NYC for the past four years. Lisa saw AndrewPeisch catching a tennis match before he begins at Harvard Business School this fall. His afternoons are spent perfecting his swing for golf on the green enjoy it now, Andrew!
