The West Coast always seems so far away from Hanover. Perhaps that is because it is far away. As a result, I usually have difficulty obtaining news from those nether reaches. However, my recent good fortune was to be reminded that Dan and Rosey Skorich now reside outside of San Francisco. The land of nuts and honey has been good to the Skoriches, but they still look forward to the day that they can return to native Minnesota. Dan has been working on an ophthalmological fellowship and conducting a fair amount of research.
Dan's phone was answered by a real live five-year-old, which was a reminder of the classmates who have seen fit to populate the earth with heirs. Dan and Rosey also have a seven-year-old daughter. Apparently Jim Mollenhoff and his wife, Catherine, were recently blessed with a 91/2 pound, 23-inch child. Congratulations, and what a relief.
John and Margaret Lagnese also number among the new parent corps. One couple which deserves special mention is the EricMillers, who have five children. Obviously it is going to be a little rough to match that performance.
Far from the family circle, I found myself on business in Grand Rapids, Minn, (yes, Minnesota!), during September. This happened to be a fairly sizable group which needed transportation, requiring a charter flight. The good news is that Mesaba Airways came to the rescue and provided great service. For those who don't know, Rob Swenson '76 is a principal founder of the airline.
That is about it this time around. I suspect I will have more news of you all as the fall gets into full swing.
