Bud and Ginnie Smith of West Palm Beach just returned from a boat trip to several islands in the Caribbean. Bud was a stock broker in Palm Beach until 1970. They're planning on attending our 60th Reunion, their first.

Jack Heston says their recent high point was seeing their youngest grandson graduate from Dartmouth. Last summer their nine grandkids were pretty spread out, including one each in Sweden, Mexico, and Korea.

Madeline McGrath, who holds the record with 20 grandchildren, made a host of friends at our 50th reunion, and we hope she's back for the 60th.

With only two children Bruce Lewis has some sort of record with 13 grandchildren and a new great-grandchild, his eighth.

The New York Times reported that an October 6 auction in New York "would include the collection of Creighton Hart, one of the foremost authorities on 19th century U.S. issues." Creighton insists he sold only some extra items, keeping his main collection intact. He says collecting stamps and historic documents has been a great hobby and unexpectedly, a profitable one.

Dartmouth has announced the receipt of $100,000 from Wally Brownstone to establish a fund providing annual income to fund a lecturer on Hebrew philosophy. Wally and his son, Clyde '57, have also made substantial contributions to Baker Library.

Curly Prosser says '28 is second on the list of the number of Life Income Trusts received by Dartmouth.

Elizabeth Ballard continues to improve from her stroke in Brittany while accompanying Bill on a research project on experimental embryology. Bill pilots her about in a wheelchair attending lectures and concerts in Hanover.

The co-chairmen of the 60th reunion, Mutt Jennings and Curly Prosser, urge that you send the card about your plans (yes, no, maybe) by December 31.

We are sorry to report the deaths of four classmates, whose obituaries will appear in this or a subsequent issue of DAM. They include Gene Magenis on August 14, JackCook on September 18, Dan Hatch on September 22, and our class president, RalphRickenbaugh, on October 19.
