The mini-reunion for the Harvard game had a small, but enthusiastic turnout for one of the better games of recent memory. Chip Carstensen, Dale Heussner, Sheldon Prentice, Mike Meehan, TimBall, Gary Shanley, Wayne Young, JonEinsidler, John Burke, Tom Kent, and Joe Fallon were among those seen in the stands or at the post-game reception in Oberlander lounge. Heussner, Prentice, and Einsidler, along with Mike Sack, FredCrossman, Ed Wisneski, Jim Neville, and Jim Gottschalk also attended Chip Carstensen's wedding on Long Island the following weekend. Fred returned from a tour of Australia to keep Chip up all night upon his return. After a hard day at the office the next day, Chip fainted on his daily run over the Brooklyn Bridge and missed the rehearsal and the bachelor party, replete with cake from the Erotic Bake Shop. Everyone had a good time without him, and Chip recovered in time for the wedding with no ill effects.
Neal Traven and Robert Weyeneth staged a mini-reunion 'of their own last June when they met in Arizona to raft the Grand Canyon with a group of friends. Neal and his wife, Mary Lynn Barresi, enjoyed the break from their commuter marriage in Pennsylvania. Neal works as an epidemiologist at Pittsburg University's Graduate School of Public Health and Mary Lynn is finishing her D.O. at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. At least Neal and Mary Lynn are in the same state and country—Bob Weyeneth is assistant professor of American Studies at the University of Hawaii, while his wife, Leslie Arnovick, is assistant professor of English at the University of British Columbia! Neal reports that Robert and Sally Landsback and their three children are doing well in Coatesville, Pa., and Bob Weyeneth ran into DavidWatters at the spring meeting of the Organization of American Historians. David teaches at the University of New Hampshire.
Lou Fantin has left the Trenton Municipal Court to represent Lenox Corporation in Lawrenceville, N.J. Lou will serve as first assistant general counsel and assistant secretary. The new postion is not as big a change as it seems, because Lou has been representing Lenox as a part-time corporate attorney since 1981.
On a sad closing note, I regret to report the passing of Larry Barr in August in New York City. An obituary will appear in a later issue of the magazine.
