Cheers for Reggie Williams '76, saluted by Sports Illustrated as a Sportsman of the Year—one of eight men and women singled out for "honoring sport by helping others." Reggie, a 12-year veteran linebacker with the Cincinnati Bengals, was a slow starter as a youngster, till it was discovered that he was partially deaf. Having triumphed over the handicap, Reggie has devoted untold hours to working with similarly afflicted children, and also with the "Just Say No" anti-drug campaign. Then there's the Reggie Williams Scholarship Fund, now at $100,000, which helps inner-city students in Cincinnati get to college. He told SI, "I'm committed for life." Along with a cheer Reggie deserves our thanks.
