Word has just been received of the death of Stu Russell. He had been ill for some time and his death, while expected, creates sadness. He was beloved by all.

A letter from Doris Cole says all is well with her. Doris is secretary of her class at Simmons and as such writes about her classmates in a column each quarter. She complains about the difficulties of digging up news. I know whereof she speaks.

The writer was in Boston recently and had lunch at the Ritz with the Sandoes. Nick's hip still bothers him but doesn't prevent him from getting around. Mary is well. They both are regular attendants at symphony on Friday afternoons.

Jim Davis is in good shape and walks a mile each day. His main avocation is watching three ponies in the back yard of a nearby neighbor. Mary has recovered nicely from her operation. Her main joy these days is a grandson who is a musical genius. I can- not give you the details, but apparently it is big league stuff.
