At a mini-reunion on the Selway River in Idaho last July three Green whitewater enthusiasts found themselves in the same boat. From left are Richard Wood '75, Bob Shine '65, and Dan Barton, Thayer '82. Wood and Barton are brothers-in-law and newcomers to this particular river. But Shine, a doctor with an ob-gyn practice in Laramie, has for 20 years spent summers as a professional river guide on several of the country's roughest whitewater rivers, including the little known Selway and the Middle Fork of the Salmon. He's also a pilot which helps in getting to the really remote spots he favors a real estate developer, and a cattleman.
