Of the past 52 living former editors in chief of The Dartmouth, only a fifth became journalists. Six editors became "other," including Howard Samuel '46, president of the AFL-ClO's Industrial Union department, and Kevin Lawther '63, regional director of South Africaire. Only one of the past 53 editors is no longer alive today: Milton Sims Kramer '54 died after graduation, just before he was to begin studies as a Rhodes Scholar.
Incidentally, The Dartmouth has had four female editors in chief, and one black: Keith Boykin '87, now a student at the Harvard Law School.
