Ideal life for any 85-year- old classmate might consist any day of three square meals without a single pill, swimming a quarter mile, bicycling 10 miles, but perhaps having a little trouble going up or down stairs. This is Dick Husband and hence one of our healthy class- mates. Although completely retired as professor of psychology at Florida State University he still does teach boating for the Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Power Squadron for which he also does radio duty.
While your secretary was summering "down Maine" secretarial work sometimes suffered. It took three attempts for the class to congratulate Ben Zaeder on his 87th birthday, as the three addresses in the Maine office varied from those in the main office in Needham. A copy of Smoke Signals with Ben's address saved the day. Ben and Ethel live in Langdon Place, a retirement home in Dover, N.H., and spent some of the summer at their son's farm in Farmington, N.H.
Greenwich, N.Y. home of Art Wilcox and probably not much bigger than its 1922 population of 3,000 when your scribe lived there —has many summer attractions. The Washington County fair is very special and Art and Inez saw beautiful Holstein cows well washed down and polished by farmers' children—and crafts created by farm families in contention for blue ribbon awards. Only the midway with cotton candy and side shows was studiously avoided. They also enjoy the many summer theater plays in neigh- boring Salem, N.Y.
Chuck Webster, Twyford, Islip, N.Y., commenting on "Dartmouth Undying" written by Franklin McDuffee '21, thought his words more than other College verses seem to strike at the heart and spirit of Dartmouth as she is emerging today. Chuck continues as chairman of the Horticultural Society of New York whose March flower show will feature an Irish garden. He is still active with the Caribbean Conservation Corporation preserving the life of the green sea turtle. Also some Twyford property is now being conveyed to the U.S. Depart- ment of Interior for the benefit of the Fish and Wildlife Research Program in Islip.
