Bill Maeck married Gertrude " Jackie" Peterson on October 1 at the Church of the Palms in Sun City, Ariz. Bill's best man was his son Benjamin, an orthopedic surgeon in San Francisco. Bill has retired from banking in Connecticut and his bride has retired from an executive position with a leading public relations and polling firm.

They have set up housekeeping at 10609 Willowbrook Drive in Sun City and have returned to college at Arizona State University in nearby Tempe. Jackie is seeking a master's degree in social work and Bill is studying music. Bill reports there are "only" eight golf courses nearby.

It is so nice to start this column with happy news, but now back to the aches and pains department. While we were sipping Bloody Marys prior to our victory over Harvard, Tom Gerber was in the Concord Hospital for an emergency appendectomy. His doctor was our very own Berger Carlson (Berge the Surg). Tom is back to normal and feels fine. Tom: the class, my wife, and the people at DAM all wish you were still writing this column.

President Fred Stockwell conducted our class meeting at the mini-reunion, and it was the usual spirited affair. Fred had just received the Chairman's Citation for outstanding `service to `the Alumni Fund.

Treasurer Hal Lindley, who hoped to be known as "Popular Hal," had to raise our class dues, so he immediately went back to just plain Hal.

The class voted to adopt the Zimmerman dorm cluster as a class project for next year. We will help fund programs in their social room, part of a plan to make social functions available to everyone at the College.

Chub (or Chuck) Feeney has resigned from the San Diego Padres baseball team. I am waiting for Chub's (or Chuck's) version of the details.

I received a nice note from Ray Colby, one of the former "Blossom St. Boys." He wrote from the Holiday Inn which was built right across the street from that famous apartment, and he pointed out that they lived in Suite 16. Ray and wife Judy had a nice visit recently with Lee and Mary Romanow and spent the time catching up on the last 40 years. As proof that Ray is getting older, he goes to all the Big Green home games but sits in the East stands to catch the sun. (At one game he saw Pete and JeffGeer in the parking lot.) As proof that there is life in the old boy yet, he was in California during our 45th Reunion, visiting daughter Robin, her husband, and two grandchildren. During the visit he hiked and biked in Yosemite, rode an elephant at the San Diego Zoo, and finally learned to ride a boggie board.

"Rock" Davidson '44, another Blossom St. Boy, checked in by phone from Dallas and wanted to hear from Ray and any other members.
