In 1988 Tony Gleason had three operations first his right knee, then his right shoulder, both caused by falls. In December an aneurysm in the abdomen put him out of commission for the holidays. When sufficiently recovered he and Gladys (who had a mastectomy in November, but now doing well) will spend the winter in Florida. Tony's census reads: two children, six grandchildren, one greatgrandson all living in California.

Travels in Austria last year were followed by Ken and Lydia Joy enjoying the 1988 fall foliage of Vermont. Six years ago in the Short Hills, N.J., area Ken organized a bus trip to New York City once a month in the fall and winter months, so that 47 persons could spend a morning at the Metropolitan Museum and then in the afternoon attend the New York Symphony. The plan continues today, and many are original riders. A former president, Ken continues his interest in the Short Hills Art Center.

Last September Worthy and Stubby Walters, Highland Park, Ill., celebrated their 50th anniversary, and recently we received a few family statistics. Daughter Patricia is secretary to Dr. Edward Teller of the Hoover Institute, and son E.W. Jr. is with IBM. Grandchildren number seven, and great-grandchildren number five.

For some time Dick Husband had worked on a project to make a trail for foot and bicycle travel by using a 16-mile abandoned railroad right of way that ran from his home town Tallahassee to St. Marks, Fla. "Rails to Trails" was completed and dedicated November 12, and Dick biked the entire way to the coast, where he met Dorothy who drove there. They celebrated with baked oysters and beer upon their reunion. Dick wonders how many classmates take 16-mile bike rides.

The 1987 class birthday card pictured Kier Boyd buying "sweet cidah" from a Hanover farmer with his Ford truck in the twenties. Kier checked our 1988 card carefully before determining the "Appeal to the Great Spirit" at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts did not involve him.
