Winter cranks by ... soon Vermont's fifth season will be in place mud season.
A note from Gary Rogers found its way to us. He wrote primarily to tell us of John D. Mugglebee's wedding last August 27 to' Chantal Escoffier in Lauris, France. Muggsy is coaching football (American rules) in Aix-en-Provence and Chantal is an attorney. Gary served as the "temoin" (come on, all you Francophiles and LSA alums ...), and the reception was held at a fifteenth century castle. According to Gary, the food, the wine and the setting were fantastic. Roland Griggs, who is a family practitioner in Columbus, Ohio, and his fiancee Thelma attended, along with Gary and his wife, Jill Eilertsen Rogers '7B. Jill freelances as a cartographer while Gary is national sales manager for ImagiTex, Inc., a manufacturer of image processing systems for electronic publishing. Their son Jake is two and a half.
This column would have ended there, except for mac@uvacs.cs.virginia.edu, otherwise known as Alex Colvin, who sent us electronic mail. He said he had little to report, but is married and still trying to finish his Ph.D. at the University of Virginia. He also passed along addresses for kenny @b.cs.uiuc.edu,rse % hpcndm @ hplabs.hp. com, and elxsi!elk!hugh@uunet.uu.net, which (have you guessed who these are yet?) puts Kevin Kenny at the University of Illinois, Scott Engles in Colorado at Hewlett Packard, and Hugh Matlock in San Jose. Stay tuned for next month to hear more of these folk. (Look out, cyberphobes—one of these days, computerspeak may yet satisfy the language requirement at Dartmouth!
The California Connection still spoke with Edy Ullman and heard that Edy and Bruce Gorden had plans to go up to the DOC-Northern California cabin at Donner Pass with Tom Beach this winter. Edy had also recently spoken with Merrill Wiseman, now a pediatrician at Children s Hospital in Seattle. Edy is currently serving as legal counsel to her firefighters' union. She and Bruce have plans to head off to Bali this May for a vacation—the California drought is sure to keep these firefighters in business this year.
That's all for now. Let us know what you're up to out there.
P.S. "Temoin" works out to be the best man in a French wedding.
