It's still two long months until the big July Brides Issue hits newsstands everywhere, and I'm sure many of you out there in Readerland are clinging to the edges of your seats, dripping with anticipation. Or something. Frankly, I don't feel terrific about the prospect of being held accountable for all that dripping on the living room carpets of America. So this month, I'm offering a marital appetizer, of sorts, to tide you over: Yes, it's a special live report from Pat Berry's wedding. Pat, as predicted months ago in this space, did, in fact, marry Mitch Heisler (you remember—the real estate mogul) in November. Needless to say, it was a shimmering, sumptuous affair—the kind of gala Harold Williams hopes to be invited to someday. Pat was beautiful. Mitch was handsome. And, most important, literally tons of your classmates were there to see it. Patti Marchand Bradbury was one of several stunning '81 bridesmaids. Patti—whose parents are, as far as I can tell, ageless- recelebrated the event three months later by giving birth to a daughter, Katherine Elizabeth. Patti is finishing an obstetrics- gynecology residency in Philadelphia; she and Kate will move to Connecticut this year to keep up with husband Bill, who's starting a fellowship at a hospital in Milford.

Anne Smolowe was similarly inspired Literally minutes ago she became mother to Emily Brooke, a moniker far more suitable than "Baby Bam-Bam," the tyke's prenatal nickname. Anne works for Project Adventure, a sort of Outward Bound thing for harried executive types. She and husband James Wasser, an architect, live in Merrimac, Mass.

Yet another bridesmaid: Torrid dancer and aspiring poet Jane Alexander Kelley. After appropriately embarrassing Pat the night before the wedding, Jane retreated to Golden Valley, Minn., where E.J. ('83) was waiting in their new home, with their new puppy. Jane advises on medical insurance plans, at outrageous hourly rates, with consultants Hewitt Associates. E.J. is some sort of lawyer.

There were more. Tons more. Betsy Field ventured' south from Richmond, Vt., the Land of Good Living, where she rustles up breakfast at Daily Bread. Patty SiglerLindner trekked in either from Cincinnati, where she resides with husband Keith, or Louisville, where she sells computer stuff for Big Blue. And Mark Carroll (a.k.a. "Marcus," and "Chief') hitched from Philadelphia, where he's been residing in pediatrics; this fall, I think, he's moving to Stanford to learn about documentary filmmaking, which he hopes to combine somehow with his medical thing.

Kevin Lynch was on hand to honor the daughter of his favorite golfing partner. Kevin forges policy for Congressman Les Aucoyn on the House Appropriations Subcommittee, and lives in Washington's stately Dupont Circle. Kevin spent the evening gossiping about Jane with Brent andTina West, who had dumped Jacob, 7, and Molly, 1, with grandma and flown in from not-quite-as-stately-but-still-beautiful Yarmouth, Maine. Brent is a rising young executive at Bath Iron Works, and Tina works for a big Portland bank.

Satisfied? No? Then hurry back in July for much more of the latest in connubial goings-on.
