Our class was well represented at the College's recent Class Officers Weekend in Hanover. With the added excitement of the Outing Club's forestry competition on the Green, Steve Lanfer rallied our group Allan Anderson, Paul Doscher, Dave Johnston, Rick MacMillan, Tom Lips, and yours truly for some weighty executive decisions. We will have a mini-reunion this fall (October 14) complete with post-Yale-game cocktails courtesy of the Doschers of Norwich and a gala dinner featuring a report of our class-sponsored undergraduate research project (a sociological analysis of the Grateful Dead's unusual band of followers). We will also have a 25th Reunion in just two more years, preparations for which are well underway. Dave Johnston introduced the extremely well-conceived idea of linking our celebratory efforts to some serious reflection and discussion of a major issue of our time. His suggestion for a topic: substance abuse and its challenge to our society and us as shapers and movers of our society. Let us know what you think.
