A sorrowful graveside service for John Grosvenor Dana, who died January 28 in Mt. Vernon, N.Y., was held July 9 at Riverside Cemetery, Woodstock, Vt. Ray and Doris Atwood, and Warren and Jeannie Daniell represented '22 at the service.
Also, the following honor has been be- stowed posthumously upon John: "Mr. Dana was a dedicated volunteer to the Mt. Vernon Y.M.C.A. His love and compassion for the community of Mt. Vernon was evident in his work at the Y.M.C.A. The board of directors of the Mt. Vernon Y.M.C.A. has developed a Community Service Award which will be presented to a person in the Mt. Vernon community who has given lifelong service to the community. The award will be called the Grosvenor Dana Friend-ship Award."
Furthermore, it must regrettably be reported that classmate Oscar Raymond Rice, Jr. died from a heart attack July 9 in Aptos, Calif. A July 25 graveside service at a Waltham, Mass., cemetery was moved to a Wellesely indoor location because of inclement weather. Haskell Cohn represented '22 at the ceremony. An obituary will follow.
More cheerfully, Betty Perkins writes from Elm Farm, Boxford, Mass.: "Think of Dartmouth often and what fun we did have. Joe is happy and we are lucky to still be in our beloved home. We do regret not getting to Hanover but count our blessings. Love to all."
