As of Monday, March 13, not over five days after Dave Dyche's letters enclosing the forms were mailed, Robin Robinson, our reunion treasurer, had 29 paid-for acceptances. This list does not include many that we know are coming. What a wonderful start. I am betting on at least 50 people showing up. I am also betting that every one of you who comes will be glad that you did. I am hoping that lastminute doubtfuls will change their minds; that we will have a real record breaker.

If you have not been a regular reunion goer in the past, you may wonder what you will find to talk about with men you haven't seen for maybe 50 years. It will be easier than you think. Historically, it has been a ripsnorting 65 years which we started together in 1924. Common experiences and diverse experiences will meld together. Common recollection of undergraduate days will come to life. Nostalgia. Fun.

If we have nothing else to talk about we can always debate about the Dartmouth Review. All I shall say on this is that I am glad I don't have the Review's problems. Imagine being dependent on circulation for your very existence and having that circulation dependent upon being constantly on the attack, constantly disagreeing with whatever the College does and doesn't do, while still paying lip service to being loyal. It is a challenge with which I couldn't cope. It would drive me to manipulating the facts, breaking College rules, vulgarity for vulgarity's sake perhaps sleaze is the best word for it. Time to hush up. I am getting too argumentative. If you disagree, come on up and I will argue it with you personally.
