We hear there's an election this fall. If you're running and need cash, (or if you want to buy a candidate) call Bill Crotty so says the National Journal, describing Bill as a "heavy hitter." Apparently this appellation is not confined to the tennis court. Bill is helping such luminaries as Senators Tom Harkin, lowa, Carl Levin, Michigan, John Kerry, Massachusetts, and Paul Simon, Illinois, as well as Rep. Joseph Kennedy, Massachusetts. GOP need not apply. You can find Bill at his Daytona Beach law firm, Black, Crotty, Sims at al. Why not run yourself, Bill?

Ted Spiegel's Aspen headquarters, known as 'Moose on Loose," opened with fanfare in March, and much of the group on hand then—Buchanans, Gabianellis, Pearsalls, and Butch Edgar—appears to have stayed around for a whole four months to await Ted's 60th birthday in July, a grand gathering of 50 or more. 1 gave up my place this time to Sock and Rachel Senne.

At the annual graduation eve party at the Inn for the sons and daughters of '53, we saw the Forrest Andersons, Siglers, Gus Aliens, Chrismans, Hortons, Bill Johnsons, Hendersons, Whittemores, Simpsons, Holways, Hazeltons (whose son Richard graduated with honors in June and won the class academic prize), Blums, Zimmermans, Paganuccis, Kisuk Cheung, Don Smith, and others. Unfortunately, this is the last good-sized class for '53 offspring, but the grandchildren aren't far behind.

From Middletown, Ohio, Bob Schuelke tells of a very satisfying life: "Happiness is a way of living and not a goal ... I'm still growing in all aspects of life husband, father, friend, businessman..." Between them, he and Ethelene have 11 children and 11 grandchildren.

Tom Croft admits to bragging about his bunch of engineers. "Oldest son Andy loved my jet fighter sea stories and against phenomenal odds has become an Air Force F-15 pilot." (Watch out, Saddam!) Steven, who recently received his M.E. from Stanford, is designing products for a small company, and Rachel will get an industrial engineering degree at Stanford next year. Tom is still full-time at Stanford Research Institute.

John Amerman is in his prime as chairman of Mattel Toys. He's into all kinds of athletics and writes that "living in Southern California is absolutely superb. Much as I love New Hampshire and New York City, there's nothing like living in L.A. for climate, outdoor living, activities, etc." Can we expect a Barbie Doll scuba-diver or rockclimber before long?
