On my way back from the Cape this summer I took the scenic Newport route and landed at Shelter Harbor for a fine overnight at Bobbie and Jack Tobin's In addition to watching over '34, Jack digs for delicious clams in his cove, tends his tomatoes, and polishes stones that are a treat to hold.

Next '34 stop was in Madison, Conn., to find Lois Frankel watching her Yankees on TV and preparing for a trip to lake country in England. Then I caught Babe and AnnShea in their beautiful ocean front home. Babe added to my '34 legend book he has four great-grandchildren.

In my report of Rand McNally's top retirement places I left you waiting last month in Hanover, rated #47. Well you know our residents: Bill and Gerry Scherman, Edand Barbara Brown, Mayo and Bernice Cohen, Helen Clark, Ellie Crandell, and Arthur and Heidi Wood. But near enough to qualify are Betty Gregory in Norwich, Bill and Irja Wilson ana Spike Fulton in Lyme, ana Jim and Phyllis Darling in Thetford

That's quite a delegation. It leads us to #60, Ocala, where Art and Gerrie Grimes reside. San Diego, #62, has Gail Clement (widow of Harry Ingram), Elizabeth Corson, and Jean Ford. Sacramento, #65, has Herb and Nola Andresen. Then comes Sarasota with a gang: Sid and Lillian Bernstein, Jim and Nettie Dunn, Perry andClaire Gilbert, John and June Lashar,Steve and Janette Woodbury, and MaryCollins, sadly now without Mac.

In December we'll give you word on the five more '34 home areas in the top hundred.

I saw HeeJee McAllister at her Nyack home, and she greatly appreciated the newsletter report of the letter her late husband, Mac, had written about his medical career and their wartime romance while in overseas service together.

Finally, an interesting thought gleaned from a lecture I heard. The speaker said that every 10 years all cells in our bodies have completely changed. That means we have had five transformations since graduation! So remember we are all fresh new people whenever we greet each other and it's okay to ask for a name reminder. Maybe next time it'll be at the Princeton game.
