At last one or two of you fellows out there have loosened up with a bit of news about yourselves. Let's have more of it now rather than in the obits. First there is a bit about Chet Bixby (our new class treasurer) and the conversion of his old factory on the shore of the Merrimac River into a condominium and then there is the story about our only Reverend Monsignor Carlos Sanchez.

The little story about Carlos is very heart warming. A photo in a local newspaper showed Carlos using an umbrella as a means of portable shade on a hot sunny day in Baton Rouge, La. The caption said he was only checking the headlines. Perhaps. But we also know that Carlos wrote to President Bush relative to burning of the flag. Carlos received a noteworthy personal letter back from the President, expressing his thoughts on the subject. Carlos lives in a Catholic- Presbyterian home. His address is P.O. Box 1625, Baton Rouge, LA 70821.

With all the happy news above I am afraid that I must add a bit of sadness to say that our class treasurer, Leon Freeman, a very successful entrepreneur, a builder of shopping centers ana a town, died suddenly September 30 at home. The obit will appear a bit later.

P.S. If you survive until you are 90 everyone is surprised you are alive, surprised you can walk, and surprised you have lucid intervals. But it's all right—because you are 90.
