Bob Belden decided to flee the ranks of "non-respondents" to the Class Notes, and writes, "My wife, Janice, and three children, Bobby, Laura, and Jessica, and I are currendy living in Brookfield, Conn., having returned from Tucson, Ariz., a year ago. I am still employed by IBM, and am currently the controller for IBM's Poughkeepsie, N.Y., site, where we manufacture mainframe processors. There are a number of people I've lost track of over the years. Whatever happened to DaveFunsch, John Kulik, Stewart Braden,Gary Crone? Have they disappeared off the face of the earth?" [According to the last update the College has on these folks, Dave Funsch was in Gaithersburg, Md., with the U.S. Navy (1987), John Kulik was in Mt. Wolf, Pa., working for the Bucks County Planning Commission (1989), Stewart Braden was in Houston, Tex. (1983), and Gary Crone was in North Liberty, Ind. (1987). The first reader to update or add to this information wins a prize; gossip and hearsay cheerfully accepted.]

A news release of late last summer announced that Arthur Heafer, M.D., has joined the medical staff of Presbyterian Hospital of Kaufman, Tex. (near Dallas), specializing in family practice. After Dart mouth, Arthur attended med school at U. Colorado, and undertook his residency in Phoenix. He then spent three years in Gonzales, Tex., fulfilling a National Health Services Corporation scholarship obligation. He and his wife, Sheri, have a son, Andy, who was nine years old last summer. According to the Seagoville (Tex.) Suburbia News, Arther likes the friendly nature of working in a small town, and the personal involvement it provides. He also is fluent in Spanish and enjoys bicycling, cross-country skiing (in Texas, Arthur?), reading, public issues, and photography.

In other news collected from third-party sources, Evan Haley is spending a semester as a visiting assistant professor of classics at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa. Evan received his Ph.D. from Columbia University. And George Grune, news of whom was just reported a few issues back, has made yet another career move, this time having been named to head Kidder, Peabody & Co.'s $7 billion asset-management operations. You'll recall that George was a managing director in the corporate finance of GE Capital; GE is the parent company of Kidder.

On the home front, Carol was in a class this fall with David Haraway, who has recently returned to New England from southern California to serve as associate director of Bequests and Trusts at Dartmouth.

A new decade is upon us all the more reason to follow through on those New Year's resolutions to keep in touch and send news! Happy winter and may the skies snow upon you and the sun shine, whatever your preference.
