A snappy salute and a hearty "well done" to Donna Ferretti Tihalas as she departs these pages as our faithful class secretary. This is your column, not mine, so please take time, at least once a year, to write, call, or fax me. Your news need not be the stuff of a front-page Washington Post headline. News includes (but is not limited to) current or new jobs, business ventures, marriages, anniversaries, births (kids and grandkids), vacations taken (places to recommend or to avoid) and planned (any '73s in that area?), community or religious activities, hobbies and sports interests, and household moves.

Do not underestimate the interest your classmates may have in your life. Former roommates, fraternity brothers, friends, acquaintances, and even classmates who know only that you are a '73 may enjoy reading a word or two about you.

While some of us may think we are the only '73s in our part of the country, a class note may reveal that a classmate lives, works, or vacations nearby. Your class notes can also provide a network for those whose lives and careers are in transition, and who are looking for new places and for new opportunities.

Kate Stith-Cabranes has been re-elected by the Board of Trustees to a second five-year term as a Charter Trustee. The Alumni Council has announced the June 1995 expiration of the Alumni Trustee term of Ann Fritz Hackett '76. The alumni will choose among three nominees to fill this opening on the Board. Isn't it time to nominate Mark Harty ? Mark has tirelessly served the College (Alumni Council president, 1986-87), and our class (is there a class-officer position he hasn't served in?), and is well qualified for service on the Board.

From Rhode Island comes news that RickWild has been appointed to Newport Hospital's medical staff as a fulltime emergency-room physician. Rick, who also has a law degree from George Washington University, is president of the Rhode Island chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians and an assistant professor of clinical medicine at Brown University School of Medicine.

Steve Bolster, chairperson of the Department of Music at Berea College in Kentucky, has been advanced to the rank of full professor. Steve did his postgraduate and doctoral studies at the University of North Carolina and at the University of Colorado. He joined Berea's faculty in 1980 and has been awarded the college's Seabury Award for Excellence in Teaching.

At our Saturday-evening reunion class dinner in June, we had the pleasure of dining with attorneys Art Lehman and Bill Koppenheffer. Art is a partner in Lehman & Gikow, PC, in New York City, where he has a general civil practice specializing in estate planning taxation, and probate. Bill is a partner in his own firm in Lebanon, N.H.

During the festivities at the class tent we reuned with Kevin O'Shea, who is a partner in the Elmira, N.Y., law firm of Davidson & O'Mara, PC; Reed Greene who has his civil law practice in San Antonio, Texas; and PhilNelson from Alexandria, Va., who puts his Ph.D. in economics to work as an expert witness in environmental and anti-trust litigation.

Among the Sunday morning 2K/10K reunion runners were Don Pavelka, Tom Helfrick and Donna Bascom. As I straggled across the 10K finish line, it was comforting to see Don, who practices medicine in Minneapolis. I knew that if I had the dreaded "post-race Big One," Don would render expert medical assistance. I just hoped he didn't remember I am a lawyer.
