The Class Officers Weekend was held in April. Following the morning session for class secretaries, I met with the other '43s to tell them about the attractive, intelligent, young lady we had as president of our group. Her name was Mary Donovan '74, and Eddie O quickly informed me that she was Charlie and Ruth Donovan's daughter. Congratulations to Charlie and Ruth for a job well

Your Alumni Magazine received from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, two gold medals and one silver. One gold medal was for Periodicals (staff) Writing, and the other gold medal was for the Best College Magazine, while the silver medal was for the Best Article of the year. The competition for these prizes was stiff. The judges felt that the DAM best conveyed the distinctive character of Dartmouth, and its intellectual liveliness.

A news note says that T. William Seidman suffered an injured pelvis while riding a horse on his ranch. Rumor has it that John Sununu had a rattlesnake on a leash that startled Bill's horse when he rounded the bend. Hang in there, Bill.

John Reps has been given the 1990 award for outstanding publications, by the American Historical Print Collection Society.

Burrows Barstow Jr. reports in from St. Petersburg, Fla., that he attended his 50th prep school reunion in May '89. It was the University School, Cleveland, Ohio, and also in attendance were Bill Chilcote of Cleveland, Bill Brandt from California, and Tom Keeler from Texas.

Burrows and wife Katie are enjoying life in Florida with daily tennis, frequent trips to see family, and seven trips abroad (some to Madrid where their daughter and her husband live).

Milton Binswanger Jr. of Memphis, Tenn. checks in with a 47th anniversary this May 28. Bins and Lenore have three children (all still married to their first spouses), and seven grandchildren, which makes for a foil and happy life.

I regret to report the death of Richard Bugbee on April 30 and George Burke M.D. on June 1.

This column will appear in the September issue which won't leave you much time to prepare for our mini-reunion in October. But please come.
