This column is brought to you by the nine '9os who wrote in this month. Eric Fanning wrote in early October from the boat he is traveling on with Peter VanAlstine, Scott Putnam, and Tom Kean. Despite the fact that some "pesky hurricanes," as he termed them, were impeding their progress, Eric remained optimistic. "Each beautiful sunrise or sunset that we see reminds us that we are not in some office in New York, wearing a tie and acting professional, and this makes us happy and we rejoice, all the while forgetting that the wind is blowing us towards Greenland." Their intended destination is, I believe, the Caribbean.

Another Psi U, Jon Nordmeyer, wrote in from The Hague, where he is teaching history, computer science, special education, and ESL at the American School, as well as coaching cross-country and sponsoring the bike club. He says the Dutch are friendly people and they make great pancakes. Jon was the official court attendant of Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands when Her Majesty visited the school.

Liz Allen gets this month's "grim postcard award" with her 5 X 8 showing the Cincinnati area as it "might have looked during the Upper Ordavipian period, 450 million years ago." Anyway, Liz is engaged to James Edgar; the two will be married in Armonk, N.Y. on July 20. They're both in Cincinnati: Liz is teaching elementary school music in two Catholic schools and singing with a chorus, while James is a college textbook sales rep for Macmillan.

Back in the Upper Valley, Scott Lush wrote that he is living in Lebanon in a gorgeous home with Steve Kong and two '91s. He logged 1600 miles on a solo bike tour of France this summer, and is hoping to get a visa to move to France this year.

Megan Ryan is attending the International Christian University in Tokyo, where she is studying japanese. She's joined the Karate club and says she's even learned to break boards.

Vladdy Stanojevic is playing soccer for the New Mexico Chiles' in Albuquerque, N.M. It's his second season as a professional and he's the team's returning leading scorer. He started pursuing an MA, in English at the U of New Mexico in January, and is coaching eighth and ninth grade soccer at the Albuquerque Academy. He also teaches English there as a substitute teacher. He will marry Tessa Sanchez on March 9. You can reach Vladdy at 1408 Lomas NW, Albuquerque, NM 87104.

"The big news in my life is that I'm finally getting one," is how Laura Van Wie put the news that she started a research assistant job at the end of October with the Bruce Com- pany, an environmental consulting firm in Washington, D.C. She'll be working with the EPA on a global warming project.

Sarah Jacobson is working at (take a deep breath) Business Executives for National Security Educational Fund Inc. They're a small, non-profit, non-partisan, lobbying defense watchdog group that aims "to bring business pragmatism, leadership and experience to Pentagon planning and spending." Sarah, your company's name takes up too much of my 600-word limit.

After spending the summer working with John Rassias's ALPS programs, MarkSchifftnan has settled in Steamboat Springs, Colo. He is working there as an alpine ski coach and educational coordinator with the Steamboat Ski Team. He said he's one of only two such "educational coordinators" in the country. When Mark's not coaching, he works for the ski team as a liaison to local schoolspart guidance counselor, part tutor, motivator, parent, big brother, etc.

That's a wrap, everyone. See you all in the March issue. My mailbox almost runneth over—let's keep it that way!
