Facing hostile fire in Spokane, Wash., is Josh Davis, who writes that his career with Rodriguez Brothers Collection Agency has twice put him in situations where he has been shot at (both shots missed him). He's currently the assistant manager of vehicular repossessions, but is quick to add that his chances of advancement are quite good the head of his department was recently sent to the hospital after attempting to retrieve an '86 Monte Carlo.
Refusing to say what she is currently doing, Emily Hill wrote to tell me about some fellow '90s instead. According to Emily, David Page is driving dog sleds in Aspen, Colo. JennieWadsworth is teaching English at Phillips Academy. Ingrid Wecht is in a masters program at Georgetown. Eric Butz left for Mexico and Chile in January.
All-American rugby player Steve Saraisky starts training this month for the Pan-American Maccabi games which take place this July in Uruguay. He will be a member of the U.S. team. The Maccabi games are a sort of "Jewish Olympics." Competitors my later go on to the international competition in Tel Aviv, which takes place once every four years.
Sebastian Atucha is teaching Spanish at Episcopal High School in Washington, D.C. Bill Gaylord skied this winter for the British National Team in World Cup competition. Does anyone know what Emily is doing?
Meredith Mcintosh has met several Dartmouth alumni at Aetna Insurance, in Rocky Hill, Conn., where she works as a financial analyst. Meredith and Joe Bermann took some time off in January to do some skiing in Park City, Utah. Joe's pursuing a masters in computer science at Stanford, and he hopes to return to New England in September. Meredith reports Stu Jackson's living in Boston and working for an economic forecasting firm.
It may be old news by now, but MichelleBrownlee wrote to report that she threw a New Year's party with a couple of '88s at an unnamed bar in the Wall Street area in New York. '9os in attendance included CraigNolan, Casey Henderson, Mark Sowa, KimKluck, Laura Simard, Elizabeth Burnett, and Sue Domchek, in addition to Emily Lustig, a Wesleyan student who spent a year at Dartmouth. While in San Francisco, Michelle hung out with John Phillips, who is attending Boalt Law School with BridgetStewart. She also ran into Rick Muise, who is working in commercial banking and living with Todd Noonan. Back in New York, Michelle reports that Tony Adiutori is a legal assistant at Seward and Kissel.
Derrick Olsen was engaged in July to his high school sweetheart, Rebecca Blanchard. They will marry in Portland, Ore., in July. After that they will go to Washington, D.C., where Derrick will complete the second year of a master's program in the Foreign Service at Georgetown.
Married in Miami in July was JeremyLeathe, to Jordana Colan. Aspen, Colo., was their honeymoon site. He is now studying at the University of Miami School of Law, and reports getting the highest grade in a property class of 120 students. J eremy says he and Jordana "have sold out for the yuppie dream" (he bought a condo, drives a Volvo, and has hired an accountant to do his taxes).
Jeremy confirmed reports I have previously received from West Coast Correspondent Ted Carleton that Pete Goldstein has been touring with Neil Young and Crazy Horse. Pete thought working as a roadie for the band would be a nice change from his painting job in northern California. Ted has learned how to jimmy locks in his job as a Douglas Parking lot attendant in San Francisco; he is also writing a film script, which he'd like to see on the silver screen some day.
And finally, as we approach the end of the first year of the rest of our lives, why not drop your class secretary (that's me) a note about what you and your classmates are doing? See you in the summer issue.
