Hesburgh the author tells that one of the first things he did on taking over the presidency of Notre Dame was "to bring in Professor Jerome Kerwin, a fine Catholic scholar, from the University of Chicago to help us strengthen our social sciences." Jerry was a classmate and a top student during our undergraduate days.

President Sandoe continues to improve. The editor asked us to write last month about some old time reminisced. I had intended to mention the Freshman Picture, sleigh rides to the jump, and troughing, to mention a few but alas my typewriter went on the blink.
