When an envelope arrives on my desk that says "Open and Be Saved," I'm usually a bit skeptical. After all, its probably some right-wing religious group out to relieve me of the burden of my sins. In this case, though, it was a splendid communique from "the original six tattooed women from the 1988 women's rugby team"—Kate Benedict,Chris Perry, Sue Marshall, Jen Wertz,Laura "Stinger" Wilson, and Kate Perle. They got together last fall in Chicago and, deadlines being what they are, this is old news to them—but not to you.

The biggest news (in their opinion) was that Benedict will be the first of the sextet to marry when she weds John "Bob" MacGregor '87 this August. According to the letter, Kate will follow marriage up by working as cookie sales director for Girl Scouts of America.

Next came word that hostesses Perry and Marshall organized a group trip to the Lincoln Park Zoo, where Wertz and Perle observed some fascinating animalistic rituals in the monkey cages. Perle thought she'd capped the evening by preparing "pizza box flambé" for dinner, but a p.s. clause claims that, ten beers after writing the letter, Wilson was seen somersaulting in a state of undress down Michigan Avenue.

This is one party I am genuinely sorry to have missed, and I hope to be invited next year to write a first-person account of the proceedings.

Spring's barely begun for most of us, but for some, the season is eternal. Paul Blevins writes from Los Angeles, where he's wrapping up his second year at UCLA Law School. Paul, affectionately known to his SAE brothers as "Blither," isn't blithering much these days, unless its from exam stress; he's cranking through school with Tom Bloomfield. The two became fast friends because 1) they're '88s, and 2) they were placed into the same section and orientation group because of that old academic nemesis, alphabetical order. "We really didn't know each other at Dartmouth, but we're great friends now. Law school finals will do that to you," Paul writes.

Also at UCLA Law is Tim Brooks, who's in his third year. Paul says that Tim plans to take a job in Indianapolis after graduation, and then Tim and Kathy Corbett will wed this August. Kathy, meanwhile, is teaching elementary school in Glendale, Calif.

As if one wedding in Paul's circle of friends isn't enough, Paul says that Mr. Bloomfield will marry CeCe Jablow in the not-so-distant future; CeCe is going to diplomacy school in Boston, so something will have to be worked out. Paul also reported on a rage at a Rams game with Ron Merrirnan, but aside from the fact that Ron lives in Newport Beach, that's all info on their get-together that I can print here.

Next month: Letters from Pete Vorbrich,Kathy Beams, Sherri Burkholder, JuliaFulwyler, and Jon Risch, plus whatever I decide to steal from the last class newsletter.
