Only classes distinguished by high achievement and early retirements get to have mid-week reunions. So the College has paid us a huge compliment by scheduling our 35 th to run from Monday to Thursday, June 15-18,1992. Those of us still motivated by love of the chase (or tuition, mortgage payments, etc.) should consider buying 1992 calendars early and reserving the aforementioned days for the pentennial pilgrimage to the source. (I know "pentennial" isn't a word.) And the footloose rest should make sure not to schedule any weddings, world cruises, visits to grandchildren, or similar events in ways that would conflict.

During last spring's Class Officers Weekend, reunion co-chairmen Dan Goggin and Bob Marchant convened a planning meeting one evening in the Hanover Inn cocktail lounge. Jack and Joan Hall, Jack Cramer,Bob Macdonald, Joe Stevenson, and (as I think one is obliged to say) your humble scribe also attended. The group reminisced with pleasure about the mini-reunions that preceded our 25 th and 30th, and we hoped similar events would be created around the country between now and next June. Also, please write to Dan or Bob with any ideas you may have for the reunion.

The class scholarship fund is now within about $10,000 of the minimum necessary for a named scholarship. It would be excellent to meet the goal before reunion. If you can help, Dan Goggin is your man. The class is continuing its financial support of social activities in the Woodward-Smith-Ripley dorm cluster. Cluster residents have reciprocated by inviting '57s to a barbecue before the homecoming football game. Why not plan to come back for Dartmouth Night and the weekend this year? As a reunion class, we'll be issued particularly good seats at the game.

Merv Bagan was recendy named president of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons at their annual meeting in New Orleans. He taught clinical surgery at the Dartmouth Medical School for seven years and now has a private practice in Concord, N.H.

Bob Woolman has been with Kodak since 1958 and has just taken up the management of strategic alliances for their Graphics Imaging Systems Division. Ken Brasted is retired from the presidency of a savings and loan association in Kansas and is enjoying life. DickFrench is self-employed in the research business and specializes in opinion polls. Since last April, John Hodgson has been medical director of 3M in St. Paul. He hopes to come back for reunion. Frank Hoefle has been consulting for the Mets for the last 16 years. Among his areas of expertise are spring training and evaluating minor leaguers.

Keep in touch.
