47 of us turned out for the Friday evening banquet, prior to the Holy Cross thumping, at the charming old Dowd's Country Inn in Lyme. Following a delicious dinner, Bob and Phyllis Unangst were given a rousing cheer for their five years of outstanding work arranging our successful mini-reunions. Bill Halsey, a new resident of Thetford, Vt., volunteered to take over the reins for the next few years. Everyone was so impressed with the facilities and the food at Dowd's that Bill Halsey arranged immediately for blocks of rooms for the next two years. In 1992 the date will be September 19, and the football game will be Penn. Some folks preferred a later reunion date, but would you believe all the rooms were already taken?

The only earth-shaking decision made at the class meeting on Saturday morning was based on our Treasurer Stet Witcher's analysis of the present and future financial needs of the class. The decision was to stop purchasing the Alumni Magazine for members of the class whose lack of interest and support is demonstrated by failure for a ten-year period to contribute anything to the Alumni Fund, class dues, or one of the College's satellite funds.

After the Saturday evening buffet, Bob Austin volunteered to be the unofficial MC and jokester. To make one of his long stories short: "How did the goat who lost his nose smell? Terrible!" Using his best barbershop techniques, Bob led us in all the old favorites from "Workin' on the Railroad" to "Eleazar Wheelock." Donna and Jack Faunce had such a great time, they wrote that they are already making plans to be back again next year. Sam Snow missed the party because of an appointment for coronary-artery surgery in Boston. Good luck, Sam.

Ben Bacon and Genie win the medal for long-distance boat hauling. They just completed the 1,713-mile trip from Maine to Florida trailing their 23-foot sailboat. Speaking of boats, Ben Bryon says he enjoyed his 55th Tabor Academy reunion last June along with Chet Brett, Hal Wonson, and Hugh Schwartz. No sign of Jack Little?
