AMONG THE ITEMS in Dartmouth's "realia" collection are the grub box belonging to Arctic explorer Vilhjalmur Stefansson (including a can of pemmican) and Daniel Webster's Franklin stove (complete with andirons). That stove is not Dartmouth's only evidence of how Webster survived the harsh New Hampshire winters: another item in the collection is his "Traveling Companion," a portable liquor cabinet.
