I heard from a number of you this month, though as usual it took some last minute heroics on the part of yours truly to fill the column. The always enlightening Bob "B Mans" Mansfield began his selftitled "once-in-a-decade letter' with a directive: "I demand more humor in the column." Unfortunately, I did not find Bob's letter to be funny in the least, except of course the part about his being a doctor in Pittsburgh. That really cracked me up. Bob also writes that Steve Lietman is "cutting bones in Baltimore and that the two recently spent a week in the Florida Keys. Now that's humor! Mans saw Tom Broadhead, who is studying law at William and Mary in Virginia, and Mike Patsis about whom he writes, "Patsis is proud as a peacock that he takes the subway to work and also that he's become a computer geek... still very concerned about how skinny he is, though Schwartzenegger asked to train him for 72." I can hardly contain myself.

Speaking of doctors, I heard that Peter Von Doersten is in the second year of a five-year ear, nose, and throat residency in Oakland, Calif. Peter lives in San Francisco, is still single, and spends what little free time he has windsurfing, sailing, and hiking up at Yosemite. Dan Skiest completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Maryland Hospital in June and is following that up with one-year programs in Feeding Hills, Mass., and Farmington, Conn. He married Suzette Damboise (also a doctor) last June. The couple live in Enfield, Conn.

Katie Wiley Laud '80 T '85 was kind enough to update me on what her brother Ben Wiley is up to: "Ben uses his Chinese-language major every day while pursuing business for his firm, Asian Capital Partners, who arrange purchases of Far-Eastern concerns for non-Asian investors." Katie writes that Ben is either traveling or "working incessantly" and that Shu Ling is expecting their first child in early April. The Wileys can now be reached at 852/572-5182 and welcome anyone passing through Hong Kong to give a call. I also heard from Lauren Andersen that she recently married Jonathan Lintott. Lauren, who received her M.B.A. at INSEAD in France, is the managing director of the British subsidiary of her family's medical equipment manufacturing company, while her husband works for the London office of a consulting company.

Class President Karen Francis told me she took time out from her busy life as a consultant for Bain in San Francisco to attend the October 12 wedding of Kim Hamer to Carl Hulse. Kim is still at National Geographic. Also in attendance were three classmates, all of whom were sporting newly minted baby girls: Mike and Betsy Benenson, Mike and Betsy Hatcher, and Denise Caccavaro and Stephen Ornell. Karen reports that the display of photo albums by the proud parents was prolific.

Needing a few more lines to finish the column, I decided to make the supreme sacrifice for the good of the class and can now close by writing that Brad Hutensky was recently engaged to Jill Jacobson. After working in Boston, New York, and Dallas, and graduating from Harvard Business School, Brad has been working in Hartford, Conn., at the development, leasing, and management of shopping centers. He writes, "It amazes me that you can write such an informative and lively column every month regardless of the consistently light mail flow. Keep up the good work! I'll do my best. Till next we talk.
