I am going to take the easy way out and quote directly from three notes I received. From Dick Lauer's wife, Catherine: "Dick has just been made Squadron Commander of the 9th MAC Reserve Airlift Wing a reserve squadron at McChord AFB in Tacoma. We (Dick, wife, and three kids) continue to live in North Bend, Ore., where Dick is the manager of bulk products for a tug and barge company, Sause Bros, (yes, they go to Hawaii)."

David Jacobsen philosophizes thusly: "After 42 years of seemingly blissful linear existence I have painfully discovered the essence and necessity of being non-linear. I found my heart again at the CASE seminar in Hanover (1989) in a glorious woman from Buenos Aires. My technical passion—still surgery; my intellectual passion—chaos. Hoping to get out of California and head east."

Alike Olschan's widow, Midge, wrote to tell me about Mike's sudden death in December and pass on some thoughts about him and Dartmouth. "We both loved Dartmouth and all of the beautiful memories we have of that place. Hanover was (and is) a part of us. I know he would want everyone to know that. Mike and I had an unbelievable storybook 'love at first sight' romance at Dartmouth and Colby Jr. It was something that most people don't want to even consider as possible these days. Even though we were college kids of the sixties, somehow we managed to escape the chaos and were married on his graduation day, June 15,1969, in Rollins Chapel. We miss Mike for many reasons, but most of all for his unquestionable, absolute love and loyalty for all of his family."

A sub-committee of the executive committee of our class (a.k.a. a group of guys) met in Hanover to discuss our 25th Reunion and related events. I pass on a few details now with more (much) to come in the future. The reunion dates are June 16-19, 1994. DavePrentice and Paul Tuhus will be working on a reunion book which figures to become a real keepsake, and we hope to have an auction to raise money for the Alumni Fund. The success of both of those depends on your participation. You will be contacted!

The 25th Reunion Alumni Fund drive is already in the planning stages, and JohnLeavitt would appreciate as much help as any of you can give. He can be contacted at (203) 665-4634 (office) or (203) 684-4925 (home). He has a monumental job ahead of him, and this would be a great time for some of you to get involved in class business.

Norm Jacobs, who is the head honcho of the reunion, would like to hear from any of you who can contribute in any way to making it a gala affair. I know there are some of you in the beverage and snack food industries who could make a donation. Also, if you have any goods or services that would be suitable for our auction, give Norm a call. He can be contacted at (508) 475-4113 (home), (508) 373-1581 (office), or (508) 374-0967 (F).

Dick Glovsky was also present at the meeting, but I don't recall him being in charge of anything.

For those of you who wish to make some not-so-long-term plans, the Homecoming game this year will be the weekend of October 16-17. Since we were kicked out of our usual spot, we will have to do some re-grouping this year. Watch this space for details. Take care and write.
