Mish Cleave's annual greeting contained a predicted epitaph for the tombstone of Alan Greenspan: "I am guardedly optimistic about the next world but remain cognizant of the downside risk." Mish also included a clipping about a trip by ship on the Columbia River from Port Astoria to Portland, part of the Rose Festival. Perhaps this fulfills a dream of traveling to the land of classmates Sam Martin, Dud Sercombe, and George Fried.
Chuck Baker wrote that Peg Funkhouser suffered a stroke last November and has moved from Hanover to Havenwood House at 33 Christian Street, Concord, NH 03301. Peg is our assistant bequest chairman. A note would brighten her day.
Ruth Paddock is studying Mesoamerican art and pottery at the art museum at Wellesley College. She is inspired by having a Peruvian granddaughter.
