A recent visit to the home of Steve Osborn in St. Paul, Minn., yielded dividends. His son, Merritt, class of' 50, was visiting his parents from his home in Ohio. We shared a few reminiscences of our respective times in Hanover. Steve produced several memorabilia from the 1927 era to share with you.

One was a copy of The Dartmouth dated February 11, 1927, showing a photograph of the Winter Carnival Committee in uniform lined up with a background of Dartmouth Row. Classmates pictured were Fred Fellingham, Dud Bonsai, Palmer Williams, Ted Ward, Bob Slater, Ray Ring and Tom Gillespie.

Also listed were 536 young ladies quartered in fraternity houses with their chaperones. O Tempora, O Mores! The Dartmouth Song Book of 1936 contained familiar titles such as "Eleazar Wheelock," "The Hanover Winter Song," and "Men of Dartmouth," with words by Richard Hovey '85.

There was one tide, "The Dartmouth Challenge Song," the words for which were written by Ernest Martin Hopkins '01. A versatile man.

Happily there are no deaths to report at this writing.
