I took a trip to Israel recently and have decided that business is definitely the way to travel. I always enjoy visiting a foreign country, but it's even more enjoyable to hit all the tourist sights, stay in clean hotels, and eat good food when you know someone else is picking up the tab! While I was staying in Jerusalem I bumped into Zia Daniell and JosieSchimmel, both of whom I mentioned in last month's issue of the Alumni Magazine. (I would have waited to write about them if I had known I was going to see them.) Here's an update: Zia is in Germany by now, doing similar work to what she was doing at Hebrew University. Josie had just relocated to Jerusalem and was hoping to rent Zia's apartment.

Josie's old roommate Cindy Kasulis recently married her high school boyfriend, Bob Murphy (June 27 was the date), and the two took a Caribbean cruise-honeymoon. They are building a house in Wolcott, Conn., close to Cindy's job at GE Capital in Stamford. Other '91s in attendance at the wedding were Judy Keeley (maid of honor), Mickey Paine, and Duncan McElroy.

I'd like to make a correction to last month's column. Nicole Hager is the basketball coach at Orford High School. I incorrectly identified Kelly Blasius as the b-ball coach at Orford. I believe she may be coaching in Thetford. Could someone enlighten me on this matter? Jonathan Perry, a freshman and sophomore English teacher in his hometown of Keene, N.H., will also be coaching basketball, at his alma mater.

Thao Dinh Vo, was featured in a recent issue of Entertainment Weekly for his novel Traveling Light. The story is based on his experiences traveling in India. The concept behind the book was born out of boredom— Thao found himself with plenty of time on his hands when his wallet was stolen two weeks before he left the country. He started writing, and on a whim sent some chapters to a publisher. It should be released by the Available Press sometime this year.

Lauren Letman recently celebrated her art opening at the New Gallery at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn.

Rakeim "Rock" Hadley reported from Newtonville, N.J., that he saw die following '91 sat an Xmas party in the D .C. area: MichelePlummer and Faith Knight were the hostesses, and also present were Geri Singer,Vincent Carter, and Steve St. John, as well as assorted '92s, '90s, and '87s. Rock didn't say what he is doing.

Rob Mairs, our esteemed class president, decided to trade in the fast-paced, hectic lifestyle of a New York City paralegal to move back to his native Minneapolis and take some time to relax and play a little before he goes on to graduate school. I guess Rob took Bob Dylan seriously when he said, "A man is a success if he wakes up in the morning and goes to bed at night and in between he does what he wants." That's advice I know I wish I had the time to take.
