Dick Mallary, president and CEO of Vermont Electric Power Co., has been named chairman of the Vermont Business Roundtable, which is made up of distinguished business leaders.

You Cleveland sports fans should know that David D. Van Tassel co-edited a recently published book entitled Sports in Cleveland: AnIllustrated History.

To escape all the snow birds in Florida, Tomand Sue Towler visited their children, who are scattered about the U.S. With such cold and snowy weather, this hardly seemed the year to leave a warmer climate.

Another retiree continuing to remain active and involved is C. Parker Reed Jr. Curt just returned from Czechoslovakia, where he served as a volunteer with the International Executive Service Corp. He was recruited to assist Oskoslovenska Obchodni Banka with its recent expansion into the capital asset investments. His job was to train its staff in the basics of investment-fund management. The organization that sent Curt is trying to help companies adjust to privatization, democratization, and free-market economies. Since 1965 this procedure has been involved in more than 14,000 projects in more than 100 countries.

Our mini-reunion chairman, Punchy Thomas, has set the first-ever mini in Florida with the hope that this might become an annual event for winter-time gathering. With the help of Deke Jackson and others in the Orlando area, this event will be held April 21-23. We will later report more on the fun and games of '49ers in attendance.
